Rep. Samantha Vang was elected to the MN House of Representatives in 2018, becoming one of the first Hmong American women in the MN House. She is a lifelong Minnesota native and proud daughter of refugees. She co-founded the first ever legislative Minnesota Asian Pacific (MAP) caucus and became chair of the People of Color Indigenous (POCI) caucus. She currently works as a Tenant Advocate, educating renters on their rights. Rep. Vang is a first-generation college graduate from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in Political Science and Communications. She also serves on the AURI Board of Directors.
