Christian Kemp-Griffin was born and raised in Canada, until he left for the United States for his university degree, which he completed at Princeton in 1986.
His career started back in Canada with the leading clothing retailer, Holt Renfrew, where he was Director of Merchandise Control for the group.
Three years later Kemp-Griffin and his wife moved to Paris and Kemp-Griffin took a job with Polo Ralph Lauren, heading up the buying and merchandising for Europe, a position he held for 7 years.
He was then recruited to The Walt Disney Company in the consumer products division where he became Director of Licensing, managing over 200 clothing licensees across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Kemp-Griffin later moved to work for Lacoste as Global V.P. for Marketing and Product Development for the Lacoste brand.
In July 2005, Kemp-Griffin worked for Bono (of U2) and his wife, Ali Hewson, to become CEO of Edun, where Kemp-Griffin worked with over 5,000 farmers growing organic cotton in Africa. In 2010, he helped to successfully negotiate the sale of 49% of EDUN to the world’s largest luxury group, LVMH.
Kemp-Griffin was one of the first investors in CelluComp Limited and in 2011 took on a full-time position as CEO. Kemp-Griffin has worked with the founders to set the company strategy, raise funds, build commercial traction, and sign R&D and manufacturing partnerships.
Kemp-Griffin and his wife have 5 children and reside in France.
