For the past decade, David has served Minnesota’s efforts to host an Expo in several capacities, including as a Senior Advisor, Chief Architect, Board Member and currently as the Chair of the Board of Directors.

David is Vice President and Principal of DLR Group (one of the world’s largest and premier architectural and engineering firms). He is the Chief Architect for the Mall of America, and he leads the firm’s regional Mixed Use practice.

David has built a reputation of design integrity for complex, mixed-use urban projects throughout his more than thirty-year career as an architect and urban planner. His projects have won numerous awards for their design statements, their contributions to the community, their innovative use of materials, their depth of environmental stewardship, and their collaborative processes. Licensed in 30 states, David has successfully implemented projects both domestically and internationally.

David is a Board member of the Minnesota Architectural Foundation. He is a frequent speaker on architectural, community development, and sustainability topics. He participates in an array of civic and business organizations.
